What is the West Central Intergroup (WCI)?

The West Central Intergroup (WCI) is a group of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) members whose purpose is to provide services to those individuals or groups of individuals in our area (Frederick and Upper Montgomery Counties) seeking to recover from the disease of alcoholism through the Twelve Steps of A.A.

The primary purpose of the West Central Intergroup of Maryland, Inc. (WCI) is, like the individual Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) group, to carry the AA message. Intergroups are established to serve individual groups in their region with carrying out certain functions which are common to all groups, and which are best handled by a centralized office. These functions are described in some detail in the General Service Office publication: AA Guidelines-Central or Intergroup Offices (PDF). West Central Intergroup (WCI) provides services to the AA groups of Frederick,  and upper Montgomery Counties Maryland, USA.
